Overview
Project overview
Unbound Studio planned, designed and developed the Skimming Solutions website, using the existing logo as the foundation for the visual direction.
The site was structured to explain brake disc skimming clearly, present pricing transparently and make booking or enquiry straightforward. Accessibility, usability and performance were considered throughout the build.
Context
Starting Situation
Skimming Solutions was a new business with a defined service offering and an existing logo, but no established online presence.
The website needed to introduce the business professionally and give potential customers a clear place to understand the service before making contact.
Challenge / Problem
Brake disc skimming is a specialised service that many customers may not understand.
The website needed to explain what it is, why it may be needed and how the process works without relying on technical knowledge.
Pricing was another important consideration. Clear upfront pricing would help reduce uncertainty and give customers a better idea of what to expect before booking.
Objectives
Objectives
Establish a professional online presence.
Explain brake disc skimming in accessible language.
Present services and pricing clearly.
Reduce uncertainty before booking or enquiry.
Provide straightforward routes for private and trade customers.
Build accessibility, usability and performance into the website from the outset.
Research & Findings
Research / Evidence
There was no formal research phase.
We carried out focused evidence gathering around the service, likely customer questions and the information customers would need before making a decision.
This gave us enough context to shape the website structure and messaging.
Findings
There was an opportunity to differentiate Skimming Solutions through education and transparency.
Clear explanations could make a technical service easier to understand, while visible pricing could reduce uncertainty around cost.
These became two of the main principles behind the website.
Decisions & Implementation
Decisions / Interventions
The existing logo was expanded into the broader visual direction for the website.
The content was structured around the questions customers were most likely to have: what the service is, why it may be needed, how it works, what it costs and how to proceed.
Technical information was simplified for non-technical customers, while pricing was shown directly wherever possible.
Implementation
Unbound Studio handled the planning, design and development of the website.
The structure and visual direction were translated into a responsive website with clear navigation, readable content and direct routes towards booking or enquiry.
Accessibility, usability and performance were considered throughout implementation.
Outcomes & Evidence
Outcomes
Skimming Solutions launched with a complete professional website covering its services, process, pricing, technical information and contact routes.
As a new business, there is not yet enough performance data to make reliable claims about commercial impact.
The website instead provides the foundation from which future performance can be measured and improved.
Limitations & Stewardship
Limitations / Caveats
As a new business, Skimming Solutions had no previous website, established audience or historical performance data.
There was also no formal market research or existing user behaviour to work from.
Some assumptions made during the initial build therefore need to be tested against real-world usage over time.
Ongoing Stewardship
Skimming Solutions opted for ongoing stewardship after launch.
Unbound Studio continues to monitor website performance and review user behaviour, allowing the experience to be refined as real-world data becomes available.
